Extracts of Zenmore ‘s Bros – Zavier and Zac
…………. it was upon Lakeview, a soulful anguish that was now destroying it’s once peaceful surrounds.
Immortals where to not live together here as a deal was made between, Zenmore and Cajuata. Zavier was to
suffer with this deal, and he was to feel the pain of longing and emptiness. The chaos was brimming as the snow fell delicately over Lakeview’s terrain, that just mirrored irony to the harshness of what was actually occurring here. The stark white snow was wrapping the land with a crisp coating of snowfall and a depth of icy soft powder. The angered tones of immortals pledging revenge was muffled by tears and the roars of anger. Threats of payback to Zenmore resonated, as his dark magic was banishing them from their home.
Centuries had rolled into centuries, of peaceful living, and this once privileged home was now an array of anger, torment, confusion and place of harmful threats. Arc walked ahead sad. His eyes brimmed with pain and anger at Zenmore’s sudden betrayal to Arc’s people. They had been friends throughout the ages, and now Zenmore was betraying him and harshly sending them to be banished in the harshest weather, to leave Lakeview with no reasons. He could not overpower the magic that pulled them away from Lakeview and his vengeance was branded within him even though he was a peaceful man with a compassionate core for his people. Vex saw Angelique falling to her knees, and the snow began to pile around her long skirt and threaded silk coat. She cried without any hope to move any further, she felt the defeat of Zenmore’s black magic and that she could not leave Zavier. She could not feel the pain of never to see him again, as forever for immortals is endless, and this pain was ripping her into a state of hopelessness. Zavier watched the chaos his eyes filled with disbelief and disappointment, to see his home becoming a war torn place. How could the wars of the universe with immortals now be in his and Zac’s home?
“Angelique!” Zavier shouted loudly, as he ran towards her.
“My Zavier!” Angelique cried, as she yelled out his name “what is to become of me without you? What is happening?” She sobbed hard with hands over her eyes, blinding her not to see the pain around her. Her people where being forced by magic to leave and their home was lost. The winter was harsh and where were they to go? Why had Zenmore done such a malice act towards them? When they had never harmed him or his immortal creations. Zac watched frozen in his steps, the only place that was safe for him was Lakeview and now it was a war zone, split down the land, Zenmore and his immortal army, the sleeping mortals of Lakeview and he and his brother against the other immortals and their creed on the other side, as if enemies in a war. Zavier raced to Angelique determined to save her. Zenmore caught his heroic act and raised his withered arm up high, cracking open the sky to thrust a barrier that no one could permeate thru. Zavier ran until he just jolted to a stop. He turned to Zenmore, his eyes burning red fueled with anger and frustration he yelled over the peoples’ cries and threats of vengeance.
“NO! Stop this damn torment; allow me to get to Angelique!”
Zenmore stood solid and ignored his son. He did not move, nor did he care to feel anyone’s emotions but his own. He had to do this as it was Cajuata’s asking. He was bound to see this thou.
“Angelique, don’t worry I shall find a way to you, you shall not be alone!”
“Zavier!” She sobbed looking at his red eyes and feeling his frustration and anger trying to get closer to her.
“Stand up Angelique be strong, remember how strong you are and run to me, run!” Zavier pleaded to Angelique, with pain gripping his immortal core, in fear for her. Angelique wiped her tears, stood up and ran faster than she ever had. She held her long skirt, that was wet and heavy from sitting on the snow. She held it up and ran fast to Zavier, with Vex running closer behind her. Vex saw her running to the Zenmores and was concerned for her as he hated them now, for what they were doing to his people. He yelled to her over the panicked war.
“Angelique! Stop they are now your enemy!”
Angelique heard nothing but Zavier’s words and ran to him, she was smiling as was Zavier to see her now closer. His feet could run no further to her, but he stretched out his arms to take her safety. She opened her arms. They both smiled, feeling their souls closer now. She smiled and Zavier smiled back, winking to her that she was now safe. As she neared his arms, Vex grabbed her arm from behind and another was coming behind closer, to grab he too.
“No! Vex! Zavier!” She cried.
Zavier held her hand tight and he pulled her over to his safety, with his immortal strength. The other immortal had now ran over and grabbed Angelique and Vex and he, began to pull to drag her across the snow.
“I shall always love you Zavier, my Zavier I shall always love you…”
Zavier squeezed her hand as it slipped its grip from his hand, Vex pulled harder and Angelique was being tugged. Zavier saw the pain in her eyes he gripped her finger tight, trying to use his strength to keep her close and then they pulled harder and within seconds they dragged her away across the snow. They walked in front of her dragging her behind, she cried uncontrollably. Zavier watched with terror in his core and anger to Zenmore. He yelled nothing back to her, he felt like he had not saved her, and his soul ached with shame. He watched her being dragged away and watched his soul being cut with every second, she moved farther into the distance. He stood alone. The snow fell over him, with gentle affection, however no one was there. His life had changed. Lakeview was now changed, Zac was with Zenmore and the mortals of Lakeview slept never knowing immortals existed among them, and never knowing what had transpired on the outskirts of Lakeview. The snow fell over the dugouts left behind, from where Angelique was dragged and over the trekked footsteps of many. The snow fell, filling the chaos of marks left over the land, creating a scene where nothing had transpired. Zavier kept looking ahead hoping it was no true, that she would run back from the trees where they left, though sadly, he stood for hours and the moon was rising and no Angelique had returned. She had possibly, left forever. Zavier walked forward Zenmore’s magic had diminished and he walked slowly to where she had sat on her knees, yelling out to him. His mind kept playing it over and over tormenting him with this scarred torturous moment. He felt the snow where she sat with his hand, his eyes red and glistening with tears. He opened his hand and saw Angelique’s silver ring…

They’re Gathering..

Book Extracts

His hair covering his black long lashes, he sat speaking of the dangers that would be arriving. The horror of what…His eyes determined with warmth to save her, but who was there to save him? No one! Zavier was alone and they were…..The heavy thudding of speeding footsteps echoed behind Zavier.  A platoon of hundreds chased him through the terrorizing terrain of Velvet Forest’s depths, where no mortals ever go. They wanted him! They need to harm him and even eradicate him forever! The echoes of boisterous yelling could be heard behind Zavier. Their voices blended in an opera of horror and screams of curses that threatened his existence.  Zavier could hear them crying out.
“Zavier! This time you are outnumbered b the hundreds, how can you defend yourself with no Zenmore or Zac or anyone? You are not cared about and this is where your reign ends! Zavier we are near we can sense the sweat on your brow and now we are going to win!”
Zavier looked back over his shoulder and in his view was a mob of brutal immortals racing towards him. Within the thickest interior of Velvet Forest, were crowded entangled trees that allowed no space to run. Each tree was covered in thorns as sharp as cutthroats. They lined the density of Velvet Forest in a tangled wall of thick branches, winding as vines. There was only one way through and he had to keep on pushing on and running forward, to get to her before they did! He ran and his tight tee was tearing of at each push through the thickness of the forests plantation. He was enduring torture. Each time he was moved a step faster away from the platoon of fierce immortals behind him, determined to kill him, his tee tore open more and his biceps sliced with gashes bleeding. His pain was intense his body ached. Zavier is never known to anyone in the way she knows him. She knew he had a sincere soul. They only ever view his actions and how he can be evil, to defend his brother and his life, she knew who he was, he was always crying out to be just a guy. A guy to love and a man to be cherished.  Zavier’s honourable race to get to her sadly now, could be to his demise. Why did he have to endure such loneliness? He had to be gladiator and be in his own war, since always, with Zenmore.
He had no one today, how empty he saw his life was. Such a man Zavier was, that no one ever saw, and here he was risking his being of existence, for her.
